
Transnationalism, Diaspora, Citizenship
In early work on transnationalism I sought to ground some of the more philosophical work on the process with empirical referents. By “bringing geography back in” I wanted to locate transnationalism in specific material practices and situated forms of knowledge. Similarly, I approached the concepts of hybridity, diaspora, and multiculturalism with the same interest in locating and grounding them in ‘real-world’ relations and spaces. Recent work with Kirsi Kallio explores transnational topologies alongside questions of citizenship and the spaces of the geosocial.
